Below Zero

Below Zero

(Free Style)

I was out today

Noticed it was winter

You could say

At -14 Fahrenheit

That warm was not in sight

But that’s alright.

I was out today

It was cold

So I was told

I was out day

Needed to stay warm

Warmer than the norm

That’s why there are:

Wool hats

Layers of clothes

Gloves and boots

And scarves

I was out today

As I reminisce

Mom had a name for this

“A good old fashioned winter”, she’d say

And send us out to play

In the snows

Until we got a runny nose

And frozen toes

I was out today

The air was crisp

Windy winter wisp

Took a drive

Was glad that I was alive

I was out today
