Frozen Furniture

(a 5-7-5-7-7 Poem)

Snow Covered Lounge Chair

 

Jack Frost has arrived
in a sudden frozen burst
Autumn blown away
as my summer furniture
seems to have seen winter’s worst

Author Notes
Over night we went from Autumn to Winter. Should have brought that deck furniture in sooner.

This poem is 5-7-5-7-7 poem, which is an American version of the Japanese Tanka. the numbers refer to the syllable count in each of the 5 lines.

This photograph was taken by the author on the morning of November 12, 2014, although the storm ocurred the day before.
