Charles Aschwanden

To my friend and brother-in-law. Charles Aschwanden who died 4/28/2009 on his motorcycle hitting a pine tree at high speed in Afton. He died like he lived. A free spirit.)

Charles was my Brother-in Law

The dangest scoundrel you ever saw.

The kind that is a dying breed

Who always had a need for speed.

He was always flying low,

Going faster than you’d ever know!

I guess that’s why I was so fond

Of this guy who acted like James Bond.

He’d give you his shirt or his last dime.

He was a legend in his time.

In Minneapolis or Saint Paul

He was the finest of them all!

He loved the road, He lived the ride

On snow, or street, or riverside

Wind in his face set his spirit free

He met his fate upon a tree

Doing what he loved to do!

So I’ll tip my hat to you!

Goodbye my friend! God bless you!
